Welcome into ARF House, the little rescue with the big heart, home of love and second chances. ARF House We are located in the mountain village of Idyllwild CA where we have been serving the community since 1994. An all-volunteer, grassroots, non-profit organization, ARF’s mission is to rescue animals that have been abandoned, lost, or whose owners are no longer able to care for them. We provide foster care until forever homes are located. All our animals are spay/neutered, receive necessary shots and other veterinary care as needed.

To learn more about us, please go to www.petfinder.com.

Each year, relying only on the generosity of donors and small grants, ARF helps an increasing number of dogs and cats, turning sad stories into happy tails. In 2010, 200 cats and dogs were rescued. 50 were reunited with their people. 132 were adopted into their new homes and received veterinary care.

At the beginning of 2011, ARF opened the doors of Sadie's Clinic for Pet Wellness, bringing much-needed part-time vet services to Idyllwild and surrounding communities. Sadies Clinic While focusing on vaccines and preventive care, the clinic deals with a variety of health concerns, saving our animal residents from a long, uncomfortable drive down the mountain.

ARF has always worked to educate our population about the importance of responsible pet ownership, including the need for spay/neuter and heartworm disease prevention.

Please won’t you join us in our efforts to improve the welfare of our loyal companions? Spend a little time to look around our website, visit the dogs and cats available for adoption, and find out how you can become involved. It has been said that a society is judged by how it treats the "least" of its members. They bring so much joy while asking so little in return. They depend on us…on you.
